Interval: “a pause or break in activity.” Interval training is designed as focused rest periods between efforts of exertion. Too often, we neglect such focus because we forget the value of recovery. This low intensity interval Spinning class asks that you pay attention to the segments in between your effort. Listen to and slow down your breathing; use the interval to capture as much recovery time as you can. Just as nutrients are absorbed between meals, so too, fitness gains occur between exercise efforts. Let’s ride.

This ride is about the essence of consistency: the ability to “show steady conformity to character, profession, or belief.”
Who you are is defined by what you repeatedly do. This ride is about maintaining consistent gear, tempo, and rhythm. A perfect metaphor of life!

What prevents experienced riders from getting better? Being good already. Cycling is an activity that demands economy of effort. Spinning® is a workout that counters that! This ride is all about CADENCE. Forcing your legs to slow down and maintaining a steady, strong pulse produces the fatigue necessary to break down muscle tissue in order to build it back stronger. And for those who love speed, Mike throws in a nice, 102 BPM, out-of-the-saddle run. Enjoy the ride!

You’re thinking, “Only 20 minutes huh, that’s kind of weak.” Oh yeah, tell me that after it’s over baby, because this killer HIIT Training style Spinning Interval class is gonna kick your butt man! We filmed it on a whim so I didn’t have our usual filming mic on so the audio isn’t perfect, but trust me, you’ll get the gist. I drive you through this pyramid HIIT Training ride where what goes up, must come down. To see what I mean, hop on your bike and let’s do this. 🙂 ~Cat
